What is it
Long-lasting allergy symptom relief formulated specially for children from the age of 2 years.
BENADRYL® Allergy Children’s 1mg/ml Oral Solution helps to protect your little ones from the symptoms of hay fever including allergy rashes as well as dust, cat and other pet allergies. BENADRYL® children’s treatments do not normally cause drowsiness in most children.If you’re not sure which product your child should be taking, ask your pharmacist who should be happy to advise
Directions
Children under 2 Years of age:
Not recommended.
Children aged 2-6 years of age:
One 2.5ml spoonful in the morning and one 2.5ml spoonful in the evening.
Children aged 6-12 years of age:
One 5ml spoonful in the morning and one 5ml spoonful in the evening.
Children aged 12 years and over:
Two 5ml spoonfulls to be swallowed once a day.
Do not take more than the stated dose.
Warnings
Do not take this medicine:
If you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients, or to the antihistamine triprolidine.
If you have kidney disease.
If any of these apply to you, get advice from a doctor or pharmacist without taking Benadryl Allergy Relief.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including sedatives or tranquillisers (used to treat anxiety or sleep disorders). Ketoconazole (an antifungal used to treat fungal infections). Erythromycin (an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections).
Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking Benadryl Allergy Relief.
In most people this product does not cause drowsiness. However, there are rare exceptions and you should take care when you use this product for the first time. If this product makes you feel drowsy, do not drive or operate machinery.
As with all antihistamines, it is advisable to avoid excessive alcohol consumption when taking this medicine.
This product contains lactose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
If anyone has too much contact a doctor or your nearest Accident and Emergency Department (Casualty) taking this leaflet and pack with you.
If you forget to take the medicine If you forget to take a dose, take the next dose when needed provided that you only take a maximum of 3 capsules in 24 hours. Do not take a double dose.
Possible side-effects
Benadryl Allergy Relief can have side-effects, like all medicines, although these are rare and are usually mild. In most people this product does not cause drowsiness. However, there are rare exceptions and you should take care when you use this product for the first time.
